PROFILE

Since more than 25 years, LOEWE is specialised in developing and producing premium diagnostic reagents for the detection of plant diseases. During that period their scientists have steadily increased the range of products in order to meet our customers’ demands and to implement new innovations in routine plant pathogen testing. Among their clientele are researchers and producers in diagnostic laboratories around the globe, who use their diagnostic tools for testing plant viruses, bacteria and fungi. LOEWE is already offering serological and molecular diagnostic reagents, that are currently successfully used to monitor the current outbreak of Xylella fastidiosa in the Apulia region.

ROLE IN THE PROJECT

With its expertise in developing and producing plant disease diagnostic assays, LOEWE will contribute to the project by developing, optimizing and validating diagnostic assays for early, fast and reliable detection of new emerging pathogens threatening Europe. LOEWE will also help in practical training of end-users through workshops and preparation of manuals and training material. Contribution will also be given to promote dissemination activities and increase the project external visibility.
