POnTE and XF-ACTORS researchers at the opening of the first info-point on Xylella fastidiosa in Apulia

The inaugural event of the first info point on the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa was held in Ostuni (Brindisi), an Apulian municipality included in the area demarcated as infected by the bacterium, on 1 September 2018.

The permanent information desk, constituted by the newly formed association “Free Committee Anti-Xylella” with the help and support of the City of Ostuni and the GAL Alto Salento, was created as part of the activities to prevent the spread of Xylella fastidiosa in the Plain of Monumental Olives, threatened by the progress of the epidemic.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Dr. Donato Boscia, Coordinator of the POnTE Project, and Dr. Pierfederico La Notte, researcher of CNR-IPSP, who expressed his full willingness to cooperate, so that the info point can also become a place of dissemination of research results conducted by the EU-funded research projects POnTE and XF-ACTORS.
