POnTE Project presented at the II TRAFOON Training Workshop on Olives, held in Córdoba

On June 8, 2016, POnTE project was presented at the II TRAFOON Training Workshop on Olives, held in Córdoba (Spain) at the principalship of the Córdoba University.

During her talk, given in Spanish, on the Current situation and scientific advances in the pathosystem Xylella fastidiosa-olive, Dr. Blanca Landa, researcher at the IAS-CSIC, took the opportunity to illustrate to a wide audience aims and targets of the Project.

The aim of the two-days Workshop (download the agenda) was to promote knowledge transfer in the olive sector and its products, considered traditional food products which are an essential part of the gastronomic heritage of Spain. Thus, technical solutions, methodologies and best practices were presented in the areas of agriculture, industrial processing and marketing of interest to producers.

TRAFOON is a network of 30 European research institutions, technology transfer agencies and SME associations and covers the value chain of four groups of traditional food products based on grains, fish, vegetables and mushrooms, and fruits. The project is aiming to increase the competitiveness of SMEs in traditional foods. Further, it stimulates communication between SMEs and research institutions, the entrepreneurship among food researchers, commercial take-up of food R&D results, and entrepreneurial networking.
