EFSA announces an international conference on European research into Xylella fastidiosa, to be held in Mallorca, on November 2017

The European Food and Safety Agency (EFSA) has announced on its portal the upcoming organization of a major scientific conference on Xylella fastidiosa and its vectors, to be held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, from 13 to 15 November 2017.

The major international event ‘Xylella fastidiosa: finding answers to a global problem’, jointly organized by EFSA with the University of the Balearic Islands, the Euphresco network, and the EU-funded consortia POnTE and XF-ACTORS, will bring together relevant experts from Europe and other parts of the world for an in-depth discussion of the results of the ongoing research projects funded at European, National and Regional level on X. fastidiosa.

Priority for participation will be given to those researchers already involved in research on X. fastidiosa, or who are embarking on new research into the topic, although an important contribution to the discussion will be offered by risk managers, stakeholders and policy makers.

POnTE Consortium is expected to be present at the event with several representatives presenting the most recent updates on their ongoing studies.

Further details on the venue, programme, registration and abstract submission can be found on the event page or requested directly by email.
