MARINA MORENTE DIAZ

I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Granada and my work has been focused on the study of the arthropods food web in the olive grove, biological control of its pests and the influence of the type of management in these issues. This work is being carried out using different methods: arthropods sampling and taxonomic identification, stable isotope analysis and study of food web descriptors.

Activity in POnTE: Recently I have joined the group “Insect Vectors of Plant Pathogens” in the Institute for the Agricultural Researches to achieve the objective to know the potential vectors of Xylella fastidiosa that live in the olive grove and its surrounding natural vegetation in the Iberian Peninsula. I am the person in charge of the organization and the execution of the field samplings and I am identifying the potential vectors which appear in the sampling sites to obtain as much information as possible about their distribution in the Iberian Peninsula, their main hosts and their population dynamics.
