I am Associate Professor in Agricultural Entomology. My research activity is devoted to the study of the insect vectors of plant pathogens: leafhopper vectors of phytoplasmas, mealybug vectors of grapevine viruses, and spittlebug vectors of Xylella fastidiosa. I am interested in plant pathogen-vector interaction, transmission biology and in the epidemiology of insect-transmitted plant pathogens. I am member of the Technical Committee on Xylella fastidiosa, Italian Ministry of Agriculture, of the working groups (external expert) on Xylella fastidiosa and on Directive 2000/29 Phytoplasma of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). Teaching activity at the University of Torino: Entomology and Insect Biotechnology (Master course on Plant Biotechnology), Fruit and Grapevine Pest Management (Master course on Sustainable Farming Systems), Bibliographic search (PhD course in Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences).
