Five new outbreaks of Xylella identified in Apulia in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi

According to the map available on the official website dedicated to Xylella monitoring in Apulia, five new outbreaks have been identified in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi, within the “containment area”, as defined by the Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/764 of the European Commission.

The new outbreaks affect the municipalities of Grottaglie, Carovigno, San Vito dei Normanni, Taranto (in the area between the towns of Carosino and San Marzano, on the shore of the reservoir “Pappadai”) and Ceglie Messapica.

The map shows that, in the first four cases, all the plants of the host species within a radius of 100 meters have already been sampled, pending the results of the analysis.
