Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum modelling goes to the field

19/01/2017/in TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS

Members of the Work Package 8 of POnTE Project met in Valencia from 16 to 19 of January 2017 to discuss the modelling activities on CaLsol. Researchers from Wageningen University and IVIA visited the production fields of Agricola Villena in Alicante. Fields of carrot, parsnip and celery were visited with the technical managers of Agrovillena.
On-site information was gathered about cropping practices and measures for disease management. Expert elicitation sessions were conducted with plant pathologists and crop specialists to better understand the epidemiology of CaLsol, and how this information can be introduced in the models for entry and spread.
